About trendista

A professional hub for live television

We help studios, newsrooms and independent producers in the United Kingdom deliver live programmes that look polished and run smoothly.

Our story

Built by people who work in the gallery every week

trendista began as a series of evening workshops for studio crews who wanted to move faster without losing control. Today it is a full course and consultancy hub covering studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups and production processes.

Our tutors still direct, operate and engineer live news programmes, interviews and entertainment shows. That means every lesson reflects what really happens when the countdown reaches zero.

How we teach

Four principles shape every course, workshop and consultancy day we deliver.

  • Learn on real kit

Every session runs on broadcast-grade cameras, desks and lighting, never on slides alone.

  • Reliability first

Live television has no second take, so we teach checklists, redundancy and calm communication.

  • Practice at pace

Rehearsals are timed against real running orders so confidence builds before the red light.

  • Crew thinking

Directors, operators, engineers and producers train side by side, as they work on air.

Our approach

From first cue to final credits

We combine small cohorts, supervised studio hours and written playbooks. Learners leave with a tested running order, an equipment checklist and the confidence to direct, operate or engineer a live show on their own.

  • Cohorts of no more than twelve learners
  • Tutors with current broadcast credits
  • Training on your own kit or in our partner studios
